Kitna Deti Hai? — for reliable RF coverage of Antennas
In India, we’ve always asked this question before trusting anything — from cars to broadband. Now, we’re asking it to antennas. Kitna deti hai? Not in kilometers per liter… but in kilometers of reliable RF coverage. At Tejtronics, we’ve taken this curiosity into the world of antenna coverage simulations. Every design we build isn’t just about gain figures on a datasheet (which often falsely reported) — it’s about real world performance. Terrain, obstacles, elevation, polarization, propagation — we simulate it all. Because an antenna that looks powerful on paper might fall silent behind a hill… And a well optimized system can quietly outperform expectations. These simulations let us answer the only question that truly matters to operators: 👉 Will my signal reach where it needs to? About 2 weeks back a curious customer approached us for his antenna system requirements. The customer was happy with our VHF and UHF yagi antennas, he also wanted a VHF/UHF diplexer so that the antennas can be connected to a single radio without switching cables. This is going to be his setup not just to work terrestrial station but also station through satellites. Article content Simulation results of the VHF yagi conisidering mounting arrangements and system losses While most UHF beams are small we have a long beam to reduce the HPBW considerably. Article content Simulation results of the UHF yagi considering monthing arrangements and system losses After talking for about 2 mins the question came, "So, how far can my signals reach?". The conventional simulation of antenna gain and match alone is not enough information to make an informed buying choice. This is question that most customers are going to ask, and so began the intersting hunt for information about VHF and UHF repeaters in India. If an operator is able to connect to these repeaters then the coverage can be enhanced many many folds thanks to the location of these repeaters. Typical Friis equation based link budgets will not betrue as terrain is not considered. This made us create a custom tool using Antenna Toolbox and few other tools with which we are now able to list most of the repeaters (VHF and UHF) in Bharat and filter them based on band and distance from the customer location. A resonable assumption of the repeater's antenna and power has been made. Article content List of VHF repeaters loacted within a range of 300 Kms from Bangalore. A quick preview of where VHF repeaters are located within a range of 3000 Kms from Bangalore. A quick preview of where VHF repeaters are located within a range of 3000 Kms from Bangalore. It’s about… kitna deti hai. Tejtronics Antennas linkbudget Propagation AntennaToolbox MATLAB Coverage VHF UHF diplexer
